Daikokuten literally means “Great Black Deva” - God of Earth, Agriculture, Rice, Farmers, the Kitchen & Wealth.
DAIKOKU is considered to be god of wealth, good relationships and marriage.. He is recognised from his wide face, smile, gold mallet and a flat black hat. Daikokuten came from the Indian god, Shiva. Daikoku wears Japanese robes and has a happy and smiling personality. Okuninushi was the creator of the land of Japan and the ruler of Izumo. He also became known as the deity of good relationships and marriage.
