Kikko symbolizes longevity. Hexagons are taken from the shape of plates on a tortoiseshell, representing strength and long life. Kikko means "tortoise shell." Originally, this hexagonal geometric design came from Western Asia. The tortoise represents longevity in Japan, and is said to live for ten thousand years.

Nishijin - traditional textile produced in the Nishijin district of Kyoto, which is a registered trademark in order to preserve the traditional process. The type of weaving is known for its finely-woven designs, created through the use of tedious processes.
