It's favoured as an obi fabric for its stiff, sturdy weave, making it easy to tie obi knots that will not slip and loosen with wear. Having a unique rustling sound, it's lustrous and firm. Designs come out as the warp is raised after the weft is strongly woven in the compacted warp.
